Match detergent to the wash
Confirm the exact country product and whether the package describes a liquid, powder, sheet, concentrated formula, or another format. Read compatibility with machine type, water conditions, fabric, and load size. Similar-looking household products are not interchangeable.
The garment care label also matters. Separate items requiring special handling and test colorfastness or fabric compatibility where the instructions call for it.
Measure from the current package
Use the package’s measuring device and directions rather than a remembered scoop from another detergent. Concentration changes how volume relates to a load. Extra detergent can leave residue and makes the result harder to investigate.
Place the product in the dispenser or drum only as instructed by both detergent and appliance guidance. Do not mix cleaning products unless their labels explicitly direct it.
Store and troubleshoot safely
Close the package, keep it dry where required, and store it away from children and anyone who could mistake it for food or drink. Keep the original label available for instructions and emergency information.
For residue or an unexpected fabric result, record washer setting, load, measure, and item instructions before changing several variables. For significant exposure, follow the label’s first-aid route and appropriate local advice.
