Most Atomy members are ordinary customers who joined to buy products and never treat it as a business. This section is for the smaller group weighing the other question — and it starts by arguing that you should treat it as a separate decision, made later.
Two decisions, not one
Joining and building are different choices with different costs. Membership is free, so trying the products carries little downside. Building a business costs time, effort, and social capital with people you know — that is a real cost, and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling to you.
Our advice is straightforward: join as a consumer, use the products for a while, and decide the second question later with clear eyes. You lose nothing by waiting.
Understand the structure first
- How the marketing plan is organised — point value, the two-leg structure, and ranks, described structurally.
- The compensation plan in more depth
- Consumer or Distributor at sign-up — and why Distributor gives you no price advantage.
Read the criticisms before the pitch
Direct selling attracts legitimate criticism and you should read it before you commit time, not after:
- What the MLM model actually is
- The pyramid scheme question, answered properly
- How it compares to Amway and to Herbalife
The honest summary: across the direct-selling industry, most people who attempt the business side do not build a substantial one. Position, timing, and the activity of your network matter in ways unrelated to how hard you work. Go in knowing that.
Practical membership questions
We make no income claims. Nothing on this site promises, projects, or estimates earnings of any kind. The compensation plan describes how a calculation works; it is not a prediction about you. See our Disclosure.
